Hello, my fellow Mom!
When you first became a mother, were you absolutely floored at how drastically life changed with this little one around? If you’re like me, you wandered around for the first few weeks or months murmuring the old bumper sticker query, “Are we having fun yet?” Nothing could have prepared me for how difficult, exhausting, and all-encompassing this role of motherhood would be. And no one could have captured with words the awesomeness of it all---the slobbery kiss, the curl of the fingers around my own, the first time they crack a funny joke, the “I love you, Mom,” from a strapping 18-year-old.
And I never would have believed how effortlessly these little ones would steal my heart, how profoundly they would form my soul. My greatest joys and purest laughter mingle together with moments of deep pain and flowing tears. To be sure, this mothering thing is not for the fainthearted.
We are in this together, Mom. My passion is to encourage you. My desire is for you to live in this moment, to enjoy being a mom, to just enjoy BE-ing, to be assured of your significance in the midst of the mundane. And above all, I want you to know how ridiculously crazy God is about you. When you catch even a glimpse of how much you are loved by your Creator, it will change the way you live this day.
